(SUNA)

Bona The Presidential Advisor, Bona Malwal, has affirmed the keenness of the government and its leader, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, to hold the general and presidential elections in the fixed time, abide by the clauses of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and to guarantee the right of the southerners for self determination, as stipulated by the Peace Agreement. In his address Sunday to the Workshop on Elections and Parliamentary Democracy:

Comparative Study on the Sudanese and Malaysian Experiments, Malwal said that western circles have interest to instigate suspicion over the result of the elections in Sudan, even if these elections were free, fair and transparent, because these circles want the current national unity government, which is led by the National Congress, to quit

Bona Malwal warned that any attempt to weaken any of the two partners of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) will harm the implementation of the peace agreement which has put an end to the war that lasted for several years.

He affirmed his strong confidence that the moves done by the so-called International Criminal Court (ICC) were intended to weaken the Sudanese leadership, and subsequently undermining the peace process and the democratic transformation in Sudan.

He expressed his belief that the coming elections in Sudan will be free and fair and will lead to the aspired democratic transformation.

Bona Malwal indicated that he is almost confident that the National Congress will once again return to power through the election gate due to its readiness and internal organization, if compared to the other Sudanese political parties. He added that logically-speaking the party or the circle that would win in the elections will never resort to forgery and fraud.
