The Sudanese government affirmed completion of its preparations to receive the Chadian President Idriss Debby who will arrive in Khartoum leading a high level delegation. Foreign Ministry spokesman, Muawia Osman Khalid stated that the visit represents an important landmark to push forward the ongoing efforts to normalize the Sudanese/Chadian relations, adding that this visit is considered a qualitative move in the bilateral relations course as it comes crowning the efforts exerted in the previous months to settle all the pending files in the relations between the two nations. He added that the visit is a kick-off for the normalizing of relations and moving towards achieving all the joint programmes in all aspects be they political, economical, social and security. Khalid said that the visit will have its positive reflection in the internal events in the two countries. It is to be noted that Chadian President Idriss Debby starts today a two- day official visit to the country during which he will conduct talks with the President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir on the resumption of bilateral relations, implementation of the signed agreements and protocols between Khartoum and N'djamena and the Chadian role in supporting the current Doha peace talks between the government and the armed forces in Darfur. The visit of the Chadian President was preceded by the signing of additional protocol between both security organs to support security and stability on the borders of the two countries. The Presidential Advisor Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismael said that the visit will push for the success of the current peace talks in Doha. He said that the visit comes as the culmination of the efforts being exerted by the two sides, last of it the visit of the Chadian security delegation to Khartoum during which agreement of establishing a joint force was signed to protect the border between the two countries. He explained that the visit will put the dots over the i's and that the two presidents will address the people of the two countries from Khartoum confirming their commitment on good-neighborhood and to work together to address the current problems in Darfur or Chad. He stressed that the two leadership considered both Chad and Sudan neighboring countries, the tribes overlapping between them and they have common historical roots, saying that Sudan is seeking to a vicinity of the potential benefits and facilitate the exchange of goods and commodities freely, stressing that the said visit will put the bilateral relations on track and will reflect positively on the Darfur issue by virtue of the relationship between the people of Chad and the Darfur tribes. |
