(SS)

The Juba Parties’ Alliance put conditions on its participation in the current discussions on post-referendum arrangements. The conditions included issues of Darfur file, freedoms and livelihood. The political powers of the Juba Alliance have raced to put conditions.

No doubt that the said manners reflect the misunderstanding of the objectives of the government invitation for these powers to participate in the discussion sessions because the issues of discussions are of strategic nature.

The issues of discussions are very important for the future of the Sudan not the government or any other party. Thus, the participation of the entire Sudanese powers in crystallizing and drafting these issues are very important.

In addition to all that, the invitation was extended by elected government to discuss specific topics. Therefore, the Juba Alliance condition about discussing other issues is not logic.

The issues of freedoms, Darfur file and living conditions are government’s issues. The political powers, when the current government mandate expires, have the right to raise these issues in order to obtain the confidence of the Sudanese voters.

If we find an excuse for the political power’s decision not to participate in the discussions because they feel dissatisfied with the election results, it will be difficult to find an excuse for their rejection to a national call for contributing in discussions on issues pertinent to future of Sudan.
